Aquariums Brisbane – Terms & Conditions
1. Structural Suitability
It is the sole responsibility of the customer or aquarium owner to ensure that the intended installation area is structurally capable of supporting the weight of the aquarium. This includes, but is not limited to, timber floorboards, elevated flooring, and upper levels. We strongly recommend that a qualified structural professional assesses the site prior to installation. Aquariums Brisbane accepts no liability for damage or injury resulting from inadequate structural support.
2. Placement Requirements
Aquariums must be installed on a completely flat and level surface. A full foam base (edge to edge) is required beneath the aquarium to ensure even weight distribution and to prevent pressure points that could lead to structural failure.
3. Aquarium Stands and Cabinets
All aquarium stands and cabinetry must be:
-
Purpose-built for aquarium use, and
-
Designed and constructed by a qualified & insured tradesperson, or
-
Approved by Aquariums Brisbane prior to installation.
Alternatively, customers may choose to purchase purpose-built stands and cabinets directly from Aquariums Brisbane.
4. Sealing of Timber Products
All raw pine stands and cabinets supplied by Aquariums Brisbane must be properly sealed using a water-resistant varnish, sealant, or paint. This is essential to prevent water damage and ensure product longevity.
5. Cabinet & Stand Safety
For safety reasons, Aquariums Brisbane strongly recommends that all aquarium cabinets and stands supplied by us are ALWAYS securely anchored to a wall or other stable structure to prevent tipping. Unsecured furniture poses a risk of tipping or falling, which can result in serious injury or even death. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure appropriate installation and anchoring is completed.
6. Inspection and Acceptance
All products, including aquariums, stands, and cabinets, must be thoroughly inspected by the customer upon collection or delivery. Any defects, discrepancies, or damages must be reported to Aquariums Brisbane immediately. Due to the fragile nature of our products, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage, faults, or discrepancies identified after the time of delivery or pickup.
7. Custom Orders and Lead Time
Custom-built aquariums may require up to 12 weeks from the time a deposit is placed to be completed. While Aquariums Brisbane makes every effort to deliver custom aquariums within a shorter timeframe, delays may occur due to operational or supply chain factors. Customers will be notified of any significant changes to estimated delivery times as soon as possible.
